By clicking on our “environmental solutions” icon, you have shown an interest in Environmentally Sustainable Seating, and We believe that the information contained in this section of our website will be enlightening and educational to you whether you are an end-user, designer/specifier, architect, facility manager or office furniture dealer.
CAF is committed to having a “full disclosure” environmental program. This means that we will endeavor to tell you what is good about our product, what we are doing above and beyond other manufacturers, and what is not so good about our product (what we are trying to improve). We believe that “Green Washing” (making false environmental claims), is the biggest obstacle when marketing and selling any environmental product, and as such, environmental education as it pertains to office furniture, is one of our most important goals. A more educated consumer will make better decisions, and be more receptive to what we offer. To this end, CAF has been working closely with Verde Interior Products (Environmental Consulting Firm), in order to aid us in educating our target market and improving our environmental product offering.
CAF is ISO9001:2000 Quality Certified as well as ISO14001 Environmentally Certified. Through our environmental certification process, we are proud of the fact that we have reduced our energy consumption, in both our manufacturing and our office environments. We have reduced our waste to landfill, improved our health and safety program for our employees, and monitor our Noise output and Emissions levels in order to comply with and exceed all Federal and Municipal Guidelines. We constantly strive for continuous improvement at all levels of our organization, and do not settle for the status quo. It is this attitude that sets us apart.
Our philosophy is to reduce our environmental footprint, by decreasing energy consumption, utilizing more bio-based products, increasing the recycled content of components, reducing or eliminating the toxicity of products, and minimizing the production of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS).In addition, in order for all CAF products to be recycled to the maximum extent, CAF has instituted a Take Back Program for all CAF products that have reached the end of their useful life.
